Are students currently in school worried about age discrimination?

Just out of curiosity I have visited a great many Architectural firms lately and the number of Architects or employees in the mid 40's and older, not counting owners of the firm, is very small! How many of you have noticed this? If you are currently working in a firm someplace can you tell me how many employees over age 45 are in your company?
