Funnels...What are they? Do they truly work?

Funnels were all the rage a couple of years back and probably still are to a certain point. I can recall seeing individuals providing courses on how to build a funnel as well as web platforms which helped you build and diagnose how to monetize hour funnel within their web platform for a monthly rate. I believe a large part of the users on the internet really didnt truly understand what a funnel was or working mechanisms behind a funnel. I am not totally sure how many individuals got duped by the funnel craze but I am sure there were many and I am also sure they are wondering why it didnt work as advertised. Let's explore funnels...

What is a funnel? The technical term for a funnel is a series of processes created around a business to help you get your target market to make a purchase...and if your target market is large enough and you own a large share of the market you can potentially make alot of money. At least until the copycats come along...The key word in the definition of a funnel above is target market. For it to work you have to understand your market...your target market...as well as a streamlined working process to get customers to say yes. That last part is very essential to a funnel working for you in your endeavor or its important for you to have an expert in your business processes who knows the correct path for yoi to get your customers to a 'yes'. Yes an expert that understands your internal processes verses just an expert funnel developer. A general expert funnel developer will lean on you wuite a bit in the development of whatever area youre attempting to gain more sales.

Let's look at funnels as a different term...a strategic contingency or continuity plan which is visual. Normally when we think contingency plan...we think of written words. The reason I use contingency and continuity as associated terms is because its a mixture of both. Strategic contingency because youre trying to reach an intended end state but youre using accepted daily or continual processes that you know work with a specific type of business as well as which also may be an accepted standard. My military bretheren know the word continuity all too well. It seems our armed forces have a continuity plan or instruction for just about everything. From how much to tighten a bolt on a million dollar aircraft to installing software on a computer. Then there are continuity plans for organization of wealth of continuity plans. These types of plans are essentially funnels...not to get a sale but in one case to ensure max safety or to ensure end users dont incur adverse affects.

So essentially we use funnels alot and are very familiar with them. Sometimes uskng a ton of technical jargon along with you can make alot of money can be confusing which can in some ways be a funnel for those looking at the end process...to get rich. I was recently listening to relatively well known speaker brian tracy...and he was giving a list to reach success in one area or another and his top items was 'quality of committment'. This holds true when jumping into the process of creating a funnel...whether it be increased sales...obtaining venture capital...building a course...etc. your committment quality plays a huge role. Looking at it in terms of building a funnel...understanding the overall market...your specific target...the types of questions customers will ask along with answers that you know work from previous tests...all the way to the other end of the spectrum...which consist of accepted practices for closing a deal...while adding your own sauce are keys to successful funnels...Many of the processes may already have written down...from there you just can create the visual representation. Sometimes stepping out of the weeds and gaining the 10000ft view can be advantageous.

This is where funnels can be truly be an asset...but not without committment to the work.
